Stacking Coupons at CVS & Saving Money!

Stacking coupons is a great way to really save money at places like CVS, Walgreens and Target! Stacking coupons refers to using manufacturer and store coupons - 2 coupons for 1 item, which saves you lots of money!

I have an example of stacking coupons at CVS that I want to share with you. I bought T.G. Lee milk at CVS last week, which must be a loss leader for CVS. It was on sale for $2.69 (it's $3.99 at Wal-mart). I had a store coupon (ECB-Extra Care Buck) for $1 and a manufacturer coupon for $1 so it cost me $.69. What a deal for a gallon of milk! For all of your Florida milk drinkers, here is the printable coupon for T.G. Lee milk.

Shopping at CVS is a great way to stack coupons. I usually buy lots of things for little money by stacking coupons!

Stacking Coupons at Target & Saving Money!

I love shopping at Target and I love saving money! I had some great manufacturer coupons that I combined with Target store coupons (known as "stacking" coupons) and I saved almost $10!

See what I bought for only $5.73! Here's how it worked:
  • Kashi waffles were on sale for $1.79 each - I had 2 manufacturer coupons for $1.50 off each so they cost $.29 each. I bought 2!
  • Morning Star meatless patties were on sale for $2.99 each and I had a manufacturer coupon for $1 off/1 and I had a store coupon for $2/2. I bought 2 of these and they were $1 a box with the savings.
  • Oscar Meyer Hotdogs were on sale for $2.54 each and I had a manufacturer coupon for $1/2 and I had a store coupon for $1/2. I bought 2 of these and they were $1.54 each after the coupons.

  • My grand total was $5.73 and I saved $9.41. I was happy! I could have done better because I have FREE Oscar Meyer hotdog coupons but I am saving them since they don't expire until end of July.

We want to hear from you! Tell us your success stories using coupons when you shop and your story may be posted in our blog!

    Stacking Coupons

How do you get the most bang for your buck by using coupons? Save more money by "stacking" your coupons!

Store Coupon + Manufacturer Coupon = Stacking Coupons

Many retailers allow you to stack coupons, including Target, CVS and Walgreens.
So where do you find store coupons? Target store coupons can be found at AFC Target Coupon Generator. CVS and Walgreens store coupons can be found in the store (Extra Care Bucks at CVS or store booklets at either CVS or Walgreens).
Use the store coupon plus the manufacturer coupon for extra savings! Often times you can get items for nearly nothing! Stay tuned for a post and picture about a recent trip to Target.

    Bigger Is Not Always Better

Americans have become accustomed to getting super-sizes and value packs in which we think we’re getting a better deal.. Wal-Mart has been instrumental in conditioning us to believe that bigger sizes provide more value to consumers. This is not always true!

For example, buying a case of bottled water at a wholesale club (i.e. Sam’s Club or Costco) would seem to be a better value than buying it at a grocery store. Again…..this is not always true! For example, Aquafina bottled water at a wholesale club is sold for $9.65 for 48 bottles (cost is $.20 per bottle). Target sells their Market Pantry brand (store brand) bottled water at their stores for $3.99 for 24 bottles (cost is $.17 per bottle). Same water….lower price at Target.
It pays to figure the price per item that you are paying. Keep a calculator with you when you're shopping so you can figure out what things cost on a per unit basis. You should be doing this with such things as diapers, wipes, bread, drinks, or anything that you pay one price for multiple use/consumption. Bigger is not always better!
